IndieMad Updates & Writer Tips Day #7

Greetings Writers & Readers!

When it comes to self-publishing, the distribution should be kept in mind. Do you want to stick just to one site, or do you want to distribute widely? There are advantages and disadvantages to both.

For example, if you are exclusive to Amazon, you can utilize "Kindle Unlimited", which people have mixed success with. If you widely distribute, there's different chances to get the book into readers' hands. It's all about what you think would be the best for your work.

One website that can be used for wide distribution is Draft2Digital. Beyond that, however, it can be used to format your work, which is an extremely useful tool. You do not have to publish on the site in order to utilize the formatting tools it has to offer.

You could go hybrid, where some books are exclusive, and some are wide distribution. "Kindle Unlimited" does work in periods-of-time, so it is not the end-all-be-all or permanent--meaning you can experience, in blocks of time, which is best for you.
